"he doesn't look a thing like Jesus"

so...it's been a horendously long time since i've blogged...sorry. i've been busy ('cuz that's a new excuse) with grad school and my new job at hastings (though it's been almost two months, so it's not really new anymore), both of which are going pretty well. i'm almost done with this semester (whew!) with just one test and one paper to go. and, to top it all off, i'm sick at the moment. i think it's just a cold, but if i don't get over it by the next couple of days, i'm going to a doctor. no being stubborn and waiting two weeks like the last time i got super sick. other than that, not much is new in my life. i'm slowly acclamating to the job at hastings and liking it (so far), though i'm a bit bummed today because, not only did one really cool guy who always called me "jenny from the block" quit the saturday after thanksgiving, another girl who i was getting to be friends with (and whom i had wonderful discussions about nip/tuck with) quit that same day as well. just when i was making friends. damn. well, i'll perservere. and who knows, by next year i might be working in the writing center at WT and can, therefore, quit hastings for much better pay. but we'll have to wait and see about that...and go fill out the paperwork to be considered and then go to the interview. but no sweat. all i'm doing right now is listening to the new Killer's album, which is awesome, and finishing up some last minute homework before i hit the sack and sleep like the dead (i hope!). i plan to rest extensively tomorrow since i don't have to work. well, i guess that's about all i've got for tonight.
The Killers-"When You Were Young"
You sit there in your heartache Waiting on some beautiful boy to To save you from your old ways You play forgiveness Watch it now Here he comes He doesnt look a thing like Jesus But he talks like a gentleman Like you imagined When you were young Can we climb this mountain I dont know Higher now than ever before I know we can make it if we take it slow Let's take it easy Easy now Watch it go We're burning down the highway skyline On the back of a hurricane That started turning When you were young When you were young And sometimes you close your eyes And see the place where you used to live When you were young They say the devil's water It ain't so sweet You dont have to drink right now But you can dip your feet Every once in a little while You sit there in your heartache Waiting on some beautiful boy to To save you from your old ways You play forgiveness Watch it now Here he comes He doesnt look a thing like Jesus But he talks like a gentleman Like you imagined When you were young (talks like a gentleman) (like you imagined) When you were young I said he doesnt look a thing like Jesus He doesnt look a thing like Jesus But more than you'll ever know
