"something has changed within me"

okay, not really. i'm just bored and felt like posting some poetry i wrote for class the other day. it's supposed to be in the style of Ginger Andrews, but i don't know how close i got. but here goes:

I try to tell him everything at once because I feel like I don’t have enough time to sit quiet and withdrawn so I say inane, stupid things that are meaningless to even me but I feel like I have to get it all in before he gets bored and goes back to his computers and radios his other life before I get resentful and sit quiet and withdrawn with a book that makes me look smart and unapproachable _________________________________________

shiver

ever notice how good singing gives you shivers initially I’ll try to pass it off as a draft or something like that but when it lasts to the very last note the final crescendo I give up being coy and accept that it’s all the power of song and a soaring voice that makes me feel touched so visibly that I shiver in response ______________________________________

addictions

“What Not to Wear” is just one of my TV drugs of choice so is “Desperate Housewives” which wasn’t on tonight because of the Superbowl. and then “Grey’s Anatomy” had a scary, cliffhanger ending which I’ll have to wait a week to see resolved or longer if I miss it because of Swing or Sing Song practice. at least I got caught up on “Charmed” thanks to their Superbowl marathon on TNT. finally I know why the Avatar’s Utopia didn’t work out and how Leo came to be human…again. and I got to see Billy Zane dressed up like Gene Kelly, Shakespeare, and Robin Hood (though thankfully not as the Phantom). all in all a good day in my opinion. though, truthfully, I should have been cleaning. ____________________________________________ so, there you go. i gave it my best shot. i guess i'll see how i did in class on friday. so, uh, that's it. i'm going back to med. brit. lit. now. have a nice night!
