"as someone told me lately everyone deserves the chance to fly"

so recently i have discovered the great music that is wicked and just gotten addicted (hey, that kinda rhymed). true, i've known about the musical for a while and been familiar enough with the most popular songs due to the theatre department (i especially remember the voice recitals last semester with many students singing selections from wicked) but it wasn't until halfway through christmas break when i got a cd and began to listen in earnest thanks to the long drive home. suddenly i couldn't get enough! i had to find the lyrics for those difficult spots i wasn't exactly sure of (because i'm so OCD that if i'm going to belt a song out in the car, i need to know all the words EXACTLY, even if i'm the only one listening. i'm crazy and i freely admit it). i absolutely feel in love with "i'm not that girl" and, if i ever actually do audition for something and they want a song, i might use that one. but enough of my musical fetish. perhaps i should tell you of my life as of recently. well, i just started my final semester at ACU (yay!) and am now trolling for grad schools (yikes!). so far my classes are all right...if a bit daunting. i'm taking two graduate classes (because i have the time and i'm a sadist apparently) and two creative writing classes (again a sadist!). though, before you all freak out, dear readers (all two of you...or none who knows) one of the creative classes is also one of my graduate classes (did that make sense? sorry if it didn't. it's too early for good sense). so far my graduate creative writing class doesn't seem too scary; it sounds like the only extra thing i'll have to do is maybe help lead some workshops and make a writing journal to be shared with the class during the final. not too bad (especially considering that, in my other graduate class we have to write response papers every week and a 15-20 page final paper. yeck!) but we'll see how it goes. i'm hoping that i can do some crossing over of projects so that i'm not biting off more than i can chew, but i'll have to make sure it's kosher with the teachers (even though i'd rather just be sneaky and underhanded, but sadly i told one of the them that i was taking the other class so i figure they might do some checking if i don't come out with the truth myself. drat me and my big mouth!) i'm only taking 13 hours (it totally pays to take more when you're a freshman and have more energy and drive than when you're a tired, old senior who's just ready to be done...and then go on for more at grad school...again i must be a sadist) and one of those hours is Kajukembo, a fun little amalgamation of different martial arts' techniques. so far it's fun and awkward and embarrassing (the back, or "mule", kick yesterday was especially fun...and i mean that in the most awkward and embarrassing sense of the word...if there is an awkward and embarrassing sense of the word "fun"). of course the best part of yesterday was doing out "warm-up": 2 sets of 50 jumping jacks, 80 crunches, and 20 pushups. and then they told us that we're going to work our way up to doing 3 sets in 7 minutes. um...excuse me? are you sure about that? i have my doubts, sir. the jumping jacks and crunches are fine; it's the pushups that kill me. i'm too weak in the arms. but enough of my whinging. well, that's my new post of the semester. how'd you like it? is anyone even out there? i guess we'll see. "When I see depressing creatures / With unprepossessing features / I remind them on their own behalf / To think of / Celebrated heads of state or / Specially great communicators / Did they have brains or knowledge? / Don't make me laugh! They were popular! Please / It's all about popular! / It's not about aptitude / It's the way you're viewed / So it's very shrewd to be / Very very popular / Like me!"

That's not OCD, sweetie, that's just flat out OBSESSED!

Did you say Sheltie left you an unsettling post? 'Cause I couldn't find it. Sheltie = Shetland

Now, I think you know who that is...
